Who we are
ApplaiQ (“we”, “us”) helps you find relevant jobs and prepare tailored applications. For anything in this policy, write to aayush@applaiq.com.
The beta is open to people living in India.
What we collect
- Account details from Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Documents you upload, such as resumes, certificates and marksheets, and the text we extract from them.
- Your career profile: experience, education, skills, achievements, job preferences and contact details you add, such as your phone number, and earlier versions of your profile.
- Your goals, typed or spoken: the roles you want and anything else you tell us, such as salary expectations, notice period and companies to avoid.
- LinkedIn data you choose to import: your profile link or Profile PDF and, from your own LinkedIn data export, your profile, positions, education, skills and up to 40 of your posts.
- Public profiles you link: your GitHub username, and the text of a website or blog you give us.
- Your story: the answers you give in the story interview, typed or spoken.
- Your persona: a headline, your strengths and a writing voice that we infer from your profile, posts, story answers and any message you paste under “Teach us your voice”. We keep the description of your voice, not the pasted message, and reuse it as the tone for your outreach drafts.
- Your searches: the roles, locations and companies you target and the text of each search brief.
- Jobs and applications: roles we find for you or you add, the kits we generate, and the status you track.
- Outreach contacts: names and job titles of people at a company you're applying to, including people found by web search, for your outreach plans. Searches for people at a company run for you alone: the results are kept only briefly, are never shared with other users, and a person is saved only if you add them to your outreach plan.
- LinkedIn connections you choose to import from your own LinkedIn data export: names, profile links, companies and job titles, used only to show you who you know at the companies you apply to. Email addresses and connection dates are removed on your device before upload. Only you can see your connections, we never combine them with other users' data, and you can delete the import at any time from the Network page.
- Voice input uses your browser's speech recognition. Your browser may send the audio to its maker (Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari, Microsoft for Edge) to turn it into text. ApplaiQ receives only the text, never audio.
- Basic usage data such as how many searches and kits you run and the AI usage behind them, to enforce beta limits.
- Your consents: when you agreed to the Terms, this notice and AI processing at sign-in, and when you confirmed a LinkedIn import is your own export, with the version of the wording you agreed to.
How we use it
Only to provide the service: building your profile, searching for and scoring jobs, generating resumes, cover letters and outreach drafts, and tracking your applications. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
We also use your name and email address to write to you about the service: replies to feedback and questions you send us, check-in messages from our founder about how your job search is going, and an email confirming your place if you become a founding member.
To check that kits stay truthful, a small sample of generated kits is reviewed by our quality team under an internal ID, without your name, and the review notes are kept separately from your account.
Google sign-in. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create and secure your account, show your name in the app, and email you about the service. We don't use Google data for ads, don't sell it, and share it only with the processors listed below. You can disconnect ApplaiQ in your Google Account settings and delete your ApplaiQ account in Settings.
Who processes it
- Supabase stores your account, profile, documents and kits (database, sign-in and file storage).
- OpenAI (our default AI model) and Anthropic (Claude) process your profile, documents, goals, story answers, any message you paste to teach us your voice, and job descriptions to build your profile, score jobs and draft kits and messages. Under their API terms, neither uses this data to train its models by default.
- Serper, which queries Google Search, runs web searches for jobs and for people at a company. It receives search terms (role titles, locations, companies and the text of your search brief), never your name or contact details.
- GitHub and the websites or blogs you link: we read only the public pages you give us.
- Vercel hosts the application. Google handles sign-in.
- Zoho Mail (India data centre) runs our applaiq.com email, so it processes the emails you send us and the emails we send you.
- These providers may process data outside India, for example in the US.
Job searches run web searches on public job boards and company sites; your personal details are not posted anywhere.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Settings → Export my data downloads a copy of everything listed above: your profile, documents and the text we extracted from them, jobs, kits, applications, outreach contacts, LinkedIn connections, search history, AI usage and consents. Original files can be downloaded from Documents.
Deleting a document from Documents deletes the file, the text we extracted from it and saved versions of your profile from after you uploaded it, and rebuilds your profile from your remaining documents, so it isn't used for new kits.
Settings → Delete my account permanently erases your profile, documents, jobs, kits, applications, LinkedIn import, outreach contacts and search history from our systems. We keep records of AI usage costs with no link to you.
After you delete your account, job listings you found may stay in our shared job library with no link to you. Before deletion they're linked only to an internal ID.
Questions, complaints and your rights
You can ask us for a summary of the data we hold and who we've shared it with, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent, from Settings or by writing to our Grievance Officer, Aayush Mishra, at aayush@applaiq.com. We acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve within 30 days. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
These rights are provided under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Changes
We'll update this page and the date above if this policy changes, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
